Design Your Custom Desk β€” 3D Configurator

Configure Your PelicanWork Desk

India's first 3D-powered custom desk configurator. Choose one of four models β€” from our signature V-trestle to a LINAK-powered solid-walnut sit-stand β€” tune every size, colour, edge and accessory in live 3D, then buy what you see. No mockups. No surprises. The render on screen is the desk in your room.

A desk that's yours in every dimension

Live 3D, real pricing, no guesswork.

Most desks are sold one way: one size, one wood tone, one leg colour, a fixed price, and a stock photo that promises a lot. We took the opposite route. Every PelicanWork desk begins as an unfinished blank in our live configurator β€” you pick the size, the material, the legs, the edge profile, the accessories. The 3D model updates in real time. The price updates in real time. What you sign off on is what we build.

That philosophy comes from a simple observation: a desk lives with you for ten years or more. The dimensions that felt right in a showroom rarely match the corner of your room where it'll actually sit. The wood tone that looked rich on a phone screen might fight the walls you chose last summer. Custom isn't a luxury β€” it's the only way the piece fits the life around it.

The configurator is built in-house, runs in your browser, and never asks you to sign up just to see a number. Open a model, turn it, resize it, hover on an accessory to see what it costs. You'll know within minutes if the desk is right. If it isn't, close the tab β€” nothing's left behind.

What you can customise

  • Tabletop size β€” preset widths across every model; some support fully custom millimetre-precise sizing
  • Material + colour β€” solid American walnut, or FENIX NTM laminate in Beige, Moss Green, Rosso or Blu Shaba
  • Legs + finish β€” black, white, or tone-matched monochromatic to match the tabletop
  • Edge profile β€” round or sharp, steep or straight, with or without a bullnose on the top
  • Grommets + cable management β€” circle or oblong, placed exactly where your monitors will sit
  • Accessories β€” laptop stands, desk shelves, under-desk drawers, cable organisers, all size-matched to the chosen tabletop

The only 3D-powered desk experience in India

Buy what you see. Two purpose-built 3D modes remove the guesswork before you commit.

A catalog photo tells you what a desk looks like in a studio. It doesn't tell you whether the 55-inch top clears the window frame in your study, whether the chamfered edge catches your forearms the way you want, or whether the sit-stand column glides smoothly enough to use during a call. We built two in-browser 3D modes so you don't have to guess.

View in Your Space (AR)

Tap View in Your Space on any configurator page and the exact desk you've configured β€” your size, your colour, your accessories, scaled to millimetre accuracy β€” drops into your room through your phone's camera. Walk around it, push it into the corner, see it against your wall paint. Works on every modern iOS and Android device. No app install. No signup.

View in Action (sit-stand cinema)

For Models 301 and 304, tap View in Action to launch a full-screen cinema mode. The desk automatically demonstrates its height range β€” Low, Sit, Standing β€” with a live readout of the exact centimetre height at each position. Pause, replay, drag the height slider yourself. You'll know the DL6 isn't "just another sit-stand" before you order.

Live pricing, live preview

The 3D model and the final price both update the instant you tick an option. No "estimate," no form to fill, no email to wait for. What you see in the viewer is the desk we build. What the configurator says is the total you pay.

Built in India, engineered in-house

The 3D engine, the AR hand-off, the cinema loop β€” all written by our team. We didn't license a generic configurator plugin. Every interaction was designed specifically for how Indian customers decide on large furniture, with live editing across every option instead of pre-baked scenes.

Buy what you see β€” not a rendering, not a mood board, not a promise. The exact desk you configure is the exact desk we build.

A carefully curated accessory catalog

Four staples. Catalogue only β€” no custom accessory work. Every piece colour-matched and size-matched to the desk you configure.

Ordinary desk brands sell accessories as an afterthought β€” a drawer from one catalogue, a monitor shelf from another, a cable organiser from wherever. None of them line up visually. None of them match the dimensions of the surface they're bolted to. We took the opposite approach: four accessories, each engineered and finished to pair with a specific desk configuration. When you tick one in the configurator, it appears in the 3D view already positioned, colour-matched, and correctly sized for the tabletop you've chosen. We don't take on custom accessory jobs β€” this catalogue is the catalogue, and everything in it ships on the same rigorous lead time as the desk itself.

Under-Desk Drawer β€” three sizes

Hand-bent powder-coated steel shell with an integrated front panel in the tabletop's own finish. Choose Small (150 mm), Medium (200 mm) or Regular (250 mm deep) β€” the configurator picks the right size for the desk you're building so it never clashes with the legs.

Desk Shelf

42 Γ— 10-inch elevated monitor shelf, colour-matched to the tabletop with powder-coated steel legs. Raises your monitors, opens desk real estate underneath for keyboards and notebooks. Available in Beige, Moss Green, Rosso and Blu Shaba to match laminate desks, or walnut to match the 207 / 304.

Cable Organiser

A 610 Γ— 109 Γ— 99 mm perforated-steel tray that bolts to the underside of the desk and swallows your power bricks, charger cables, and hub wiring. Colour-matches your legs. If you chose Monochromatic legs, an add-on colour toggle on the configurator lets you pin the accessory to either Black or White steel.

Laptop Stand

A slim angled stand in the exact same FENIX NTM colour as your tabletop β€” so when your laptop is closed, the two surfaces read as one continuous finish. Puts the screen at monitor height, the keyboard at typing height.

Grommets + cable slot β€” detail work

Two grommet types (circle 75 mm, oblong 120 Γ— 75 mm) can be placed anywhere on the tabletop in the configurator β€” drag them to exactly where your monitor cables will sit, see them cut in real time. Every desk also ships with a rear-edge cable slot (width and depth configured per model) so the main cable bundle never has to cross the tabletop surface.

FENIX NTM: the surface you forget is there

Italian nanotech laminate on Baltic Birch plywood. Five models benefit from it. One surface most people have never heard of.

FENIX NTM is developed by Arpa Industriale in Italy. We chose it for our laminate desks (Model 203 and Model 301) after two years of comparing surfaces from three continents. It's the single most expensive material decision on those desks, and the one we're least willing to compromise on.

Five things make FENIX NTM different from ordinary laminates β€” and are the reason you'll find it on high-end kitchen counters, clinic surfaces, and luxury yacht interiors before most desk brands catch on:

Soft-touch matte finish

The outer layer is cured with electron-beam technology, giving it a genuine soft-touch matte look that never goes glossy β€” no fingerprints, no reflections that catch your monitors, no glare on video calls. Run your hand across it once and you'll understand why it's called nanotechnology.

Automatic scratch healing (thermal memory)

FENIX's top layer is an acrylic-resin polymer with thermal memory. Micro-scratches β€” the kind left by keys, pens, ceramic mugs, a dropped earring β€” vanish when gentle heat is applied: a warm damp cloth pressed for a few seconds, or a low-heat hairdryer pass. The polymer relaxes back to its original plane. We've tested three-year-old FENIX tops in workshops with kids and cats; the surface still looks like the day we installed it.

Food-contact safe, anti-bacterial

FENIX NTM is certified food-safe under EU 10/2011 and FDA 21 CFR regulations β€” meaning you can prep a sandwich on your desk, rest a coffee cup directly on the surface, or use it as a secondary kitchen prep counter without concern. The non-porous surface resists bacterial growth and meets ISO 22196 anti-bacterial standards. Wipes clean with water alone β€” no chemicals, no sealants to reapply.

Stain + solvent resistant

The closed-pore surface resists coffee, red wine, ink, permanent marker, and common household solvents. Spill turmeric on a beige top and wipe it off hours later β€” no ghost stain. Tested against 120+ common household reagents including acetone, alcohol, and bleach with no visible surface change.

Anti-fingerprint across all finishes

The electron-beam cured surface doesn't hold skin oils. You can run your fingers across a FENIX tabletop all day and the matte finish stays clean β€” no smudges to wipe before a Zoom call, no visible fingerprints on the darker Rosso and Blu Shaba finishes the way a standard matte laminate would.

Mounted on Baltic Birch plywood

The 31 mm substrate is slow-grown Baltic Birch β€” a multi-ply panel known for its dimensional stability. It won't warp with humidity swings, and it carries heavy monitor setups without sagging at the centre. The FENIX laminate wraps the top and edges; the plywood core gives the panel its rigidity.

"We wanted a surface that looked premium on day one and still did on year five. FENIX was the only one that held up to every test we threw at it."

LINAK: the Danish engine under every sit-stand

If you've stood at a height-adjustable desk anywhere in Europe, you've probably used LINAK. We use their reinforced columns on both our sit-stand models.

LINAK A/S, founded in 1907 in Guderup, Denmark, builds the actuators and columns that raise and lower the most-reviewed sit-stand desks in the world. They don't sell to consumers β€” they sell to furniture manufacturers who demand Danish-grade engineering. We specified LINAK on day one because we refused to ship a sit-stand desk that wobbled at standing height.

What makes LINAK different

Whisper-quiet motion

The DF3 (on Model 301) moves at 38 mm/s β€” quick enough to go sit-to-stand in about four seconds. The reinforced DL6 (on Model 304) moves at 80 mm/s, more than double the speed of typical sit-stand columns. Both operate under 48 dB (quieter than a refrigerator), so you can take a call while the desk rises.

Smart anti-collision

Sensors inside the column detect obstacles, tilt, and sudden load changes. If the desk hits a chair arm, a monitor stand, or a crawling child on the way down, it stops and reverses within 200 ms. No pinched fingers. No damaged furniture.

Rated for sustained daily cycles

LINAK columns are rated for 10,000+ full-stroke cycles β€” enough for twenty years of twice-daily sit-to-stand adjustments. Each column is individually tested before shipping from Denmark.

Energy-efficient standby (~0.1 W)

Idle power draw is vanishingly small. The column only pulls current while actively moving. Over a year, a LINAK sit-stand costs less to run than a single LED bulb.

10-year manufacturer warranty

LINAK covers every column we ship for a full decade. In the rare event of a failure, the unit is swapped free of charge β€” we handle the logistics.

Stability at standing height

At a full 122 cm extension, a loaded LINAK column deflects less than 3 mm under a 20 kg lateral push. Most consumer-grade columns deflect 15–20 mm β€” enough to notice a shudder every time you type.

"A cheap sit-stand wobbles. A LINAK doesn't. After ten minutes at standing height, you stop noticing the column and start noticing your posture β€” which is the entire point."

The 301 runs on LINAK's DF3 column β€” compact, three-stage, 100 kg lift capacity, 38 mm/s. The 304 uses LINAK's DL6 from the Piezo line β€” the premium tier for loaded desks, with thicker steel profiles, 160 kg lift capacity, 80 mm/s motion, and dual anti-collision: one sensor in the controller reading current-spike resistance, and a second piezoelectric sensor built into the column itself that reads mechanical vibration + angular tilt. The column stops whether the obstruction is heavy or light, rigid or soft. Both 301 and 304 pair with a choice of Standard or Premium handset β€” the Premium adds Bluetooth, memory-height presets, and automatic drive-to-height via the LINAK companion app.

Model 203 β€” Laminate V-Trestle Desk

Our signature sleek silhouette. Crafted from Baltic Birch with a FENIX NTM top layer. From β‚Ή18,900.

The Model 203 is where people usually start. It's a fixed-height workstation, but that's almost beside the point β€” the real reason it exists is the frame. The V-trestle is two angled steel pipes meeting at a bolted plate underneath the tabletop, borrowed from the language of mid-century Italian lighting and bent into a desk leg. From the side, the profile is nearly triangular; from the front, almost invisible. It leaves the room feeling larger.

The tabletop is Baltic Birch plywood β€” 31 mm of multi-ply stability β€” wrapped in FENIX NTM laminate in one of four considered colours: Beige Luxor (a soft warm stone), Moss Green (forest, muted, reads as a neutral at dusk), Rosso Askja (deep oxblood, low saturation), and Blu Shaba (the dark navy that was briefly called Yale Blue on the label). None of them shout. All of them age well.

Legs come in black or white β€” or monochromatic, which tone-matches the leg powder-coat to the tabletop so the desk reads as a single sculpted object. We built the monochromatic option after too many customers asked for it. It's the one most designers specify.

What sets the V-trestle apart

  • Visually light. The angled geometry reads thinner than four vertical legs, even though the load path is identical
  • Engineered for rigidity. Laboratory leaning tests show the 203 stays within 2 mm of plumb under a 60 kg lean on the front edge
  • Footprint-efficient. The trestle base is narrower than the tabletop depth, so the desk can sit flush against rugs without leaving gaps
  • Tool-light assembly. Four bolts per side. Two people. Under twelve minutes from box to desk

Who the 203 is for

  • Design-focused home offices where the desk is part of the room's visual language
  • Studios and agencies where colour choice matters as much as workflow
  • Households with shared workspaces β€” FENIX wipes clean of ink, coffee, craft glue
  • Anyone who wants a statement piece without a sit-stand mechanism

Model 207 β€” Solid American Walnut Fixed Desk

A single slab of kiln-dried walnut, sized in one-millimetre increments. From β‚Ή45,990.

The 207 is the desk we make for the people who know exactly what they want. A single piece of solid American walnut β€” not veneer, not engineered wood β€” kiln-dried in-house, hand-finished with a penetrating oil that enhances the grain instead of sitting on top of it. Two matching legs in powder-coated steel. One cable slot along the rear edge.

Every slab is different. We hand-select each board for grain consistency before it goes to the configurator queue; when you pick a size, the workshop matches it to the slab with the most balanced figure. The 207 you receive is genuinely yours. There will never be another like it.

Sizing is the other thing the 207 does differently. Within the range 48–60 inches wide and 24–30 inches deep, you can set any millimetre combination. The configurator shows you the exact footprint in the room, the cable slot snaps to where your display will sit, and the price updates per square inch as you resize. Whatever you land on β€” a 52.3 Γ— 26.8 desk that fits behind your particular doorway β€” is what gets milled.

Edge profiles β€” the detail most people overlook

Solid walnut is expensive; the edge is where craft shows. We offer four profiles, each generated live in 3D as you choose:

  • Round Steep β€” the bottom pulls 39 mm back from the top with a smooth curve. The edge feels thin against your forearms
  • Round Straight β€” a gentle bullnose on the top, straight sides. Formal, architectural
  • Sharp Steep β€” a 45Β° chamfer cut cleanly at the bottom. Minimal, contemporary
  • Sharp Straight β€” flat top, flat sides, crisp 90Β° edges. The quietest profile

Model 301 β€” Laminate Sit-Stand Desk

Danish-engineered LINAK DF3 columns, Baltic Birch with FENIX NTM top, four colours. From β‚Ή49,600.

The 301 was designed around a single conviction: if you're going to sit for seven hours a day, the desk you sit at should also let you stand. We took the 203's surface β€” the same Baltic Birch plywood, the same FENIX NTM wrap, the same four colour palette β€” and put it on top of two LINAK DF3 electric columns, the same mechanism that powers sit-stand installations in offices from Stockholm to Singapore.

The DF3 raises the tabletop from a seated 72 cm up to a standing 122 cm. The adjustment is done via a handset mounted under the right edge: either the Standard Controller (up / down / three memory presets, a digital height readout) or the Premium Controller β€” a Red Dot Design Award-winning handset that adds Bluetooth pairing with the LINAK companion app, automatic drive-to-height, anti-collision sensing, and key-lock so you don't accidentally lift your coffee mug off the surface when stretching across.

Why people switch from fixed desks to sit-stand

Research from the Mayo Clinic, the American College of Sports Medicine, and the Journal of Physical Activity & Health consistently finds that alternating between sitting and standing every 30–60 minutes reduces lower back strain, stabilises blood sugar, and improves afternoon focus. The common reason people don't switch to sit-stand isn't cost β€” it's that the desks they've tried feel cheap. They wobble. They whine. The adjustment takes so long the customer gives up and leaves it at sitting height. The 301, on LINAK, removes that friction.

What we engineered carefully

100 kg lift capacity

Load the desk with dual monitors, a mechanical keyboard, a ring light, a cup of tea. The DF3 raises the fully-loaded assembly without noticeable speed change.

Anti-collision in both directions

The column detects obstructions going up and going down. If your desk chair is pushed in, the desk stops before the edge meets the armrest. Same for descending onto a stack of books or a child's hand.

Sub-50 dB motion

Measured at the user's ear. Quieter than typing. You can raise the desk mid-call and no one will notice on the other end.

Memory presets

Save up to four favourite heights (Standard Controller stores three; Premium stores four with auto-drive). Tap, the desk moves itself. No thumb-on-button wait.

Model 304 β€” Solid Walnut Sit-Stand Desk

Our flagship. Hand-finished walnut top over LINAK DL6 reinforced columns. From β‚Ή89,900.

The 304 is what happens when a 207 walnut top meets our most capable sit-stand hardware. We moved up from the DF3 to LINAK's DL6 β€” reinforced three-stage columns with thicker profiles, tighter tolerances, and a 160 kg lift capacity. The DL6 is what offices specify for loaded benching systems where each station runs triple monitors, a document camera, and a permanent coffee. It does not flinch.

The top is the same kiln-dried, hand-selected American walnut as the 207 β€” a single continuous slab, hand-rubbed oil finish, unique grain. The difference is that this one goes up and down. At standing height, a weighted DL6 deflects less than 3 mm under a 20 kg lateral push. The point isn't that the number is small; it's that after ten minutes of working at stand height you stop noticing the mechanism at all and start noticing your back feels better.

The DL6's four engineering advantages

160 kg lift capacity

60% more than the DF3. Rated for loaded desks with heavy monitor arms, large-format printers, or multi-person collaborative setups.

Three-stage telescoping

Three nested steel profiles instead of two β€” meaning the retracted height is lower (59 cm, wheelchair-friendly) and the extended height is higher (128 cm), giving a 66 cm range.

Reinforced anti-collision

The DL6's sensing is tuned for heavier loads. It tells the difference between an actual obstruction and the normal momentum of a 30 kg desk reaching standing height.

Whisper quiet at full load

DL6 motion is spec'd below 48 dB even at maximum lift. The reinforced column design also means less harmonic vibration through the tabletop β€” no rattle when a fan spins up during motion.

Frequently asked

Why are your laminate desks so much more expensive than IKEA-grade?

Because the laminate is FENIX NTM, the substrate is Baltic Birch multi-ply, and the frame is hand-welded powder-coated steel. An IKEA desk is particleboard with paper print laminate on fold-flat legs. It survives two moves. Our 203 is specified for ten-year daily use. Different products.

What does "monochromatic" leg colour actually mean?

The legs are powder-coated to the same hex code as the tabletop laminate. Pick Rosso Askja, and the frame is Rosso Askja. From across the room the desk reads as a single sculpted object instead of "top and legs." It's a finish option we added after repeated requests from interior designers.

Is the LINAK column serviceable if something goes wrong?

Yes. LINAK covers every column under a 10-year warranty, and replacement units can be swapped in under an hour by our technician. We hold spare DF3 and DL6 columns in-country for exactly this reason β€” the few failure cases we've seen have been resolved in under five business days.

How do the anti-collision sensors actually work?

Every LINAK column contains accelerometers and current-draw sensors in the motor. If the column encounters an unexpected resistance (chair arm, monitor cable, bottle), the current spikes for a fraction of a second. Firmware detects the spike inside 200 ms, halts the motor, and reverses 25 mm. It's sensitive enough to stop on a book, not so sensitive that adding a monitor triggers it.

Can I order without going through the configurator?

You can, but we recommend the configurator. The price is identical either way; the configurator just ensures you see the exact 3D model of the specific desk we'll build. We'll never ship a desk that wasn't signed off on in the live preview.

What's the lead time?

Typical lead time is 3–4 weeks from order confirmation to dispatch. Solid-walnut tops (207 and 304) may add 5–7 days because each slab is individually selected. Sit-stand assemblies are bench-tested for two full cycles before they leave the workshop.

Do you ship outside India?

Not at the moment. PelicanWork ships across India only. Metro-area delivery and white-glove assembly are included in every quote the configurator shows.

Can I return or exchange a custom desk?

Custom work isn't returnable β€” we can't resell a 52.3 Γ— 26.8 walnut top to another customer. That said, if there's a manufacturing defect or a configuration error on our end, we rebuild the piece at no cost.

What if I want something the configurator doesn't offer?

Call us and we'll guide you. Tabletop sizing beyond the sliders on the 207 is sometimes possible depending on available slabs. Our accessory catalogue is fixed β€” we don't take on custom drawer, shelf, or cable-tray work, and our edge profiles are the four configurable options shown in the 3D view. What we do well, we do consistently; we'd rather refer you elsewhere than build a one-off we can't support afterwards.

Your desk, in the room you actually have

Open any model. Tune it. See it. If it's right, it's ready. If it isn't, no one will chase you.
